background
Super Group Ltd, a leading Food & Beverage brand owner with market dominance in Southeast Asia, expanded and upgraded their existing coffee wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) of their instant coffee production plant in in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. The upgraded plant needed to have a capacity of 2400 m3/d and achieve the industrial wastewater discharge limits from the local authorities.
For this, Super Group Ltd adopted the Airlift™ MBR technology in their wastewater treatment plant. The technology combines the biological degradation step with a membrane separation process. This provides efficient treatment of industrial wastewater with high organic content (COD) and a high suspended solids (TSS) concentration.
advantages
- The permeate achieves industrial wastewater discharge limits
- The permeate can be re-used for nonpotable applications
- The system has a limited space requirement
- The system offers automated operation allowing the maintenance of the plant to be simple and clean
