The Pentair Haffmans MK-3 CPM® FilterTester provides easy testing of CPM sterile filter elements as well as most conventional filter cartridges. When used with CPM sterile filters, the MK-3 allows for in-line testing. Effective sterile filtration, to prevent contamination, spoilage and product loss, is an essential part of your production process.

FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

The test method employed by the MK-3 is known as the “Go/No Go” Test and provides very fast and accurate results. To simulate microorganisms, a microfog or series of smoke-like particles is generated within the FilterTester from non-toxic saturated synthetic hydrocarbons. These hydrocarbons form micro drops of 0.2 to 2.5 μm.
This fog is then applied under pressure from an integrated compressor to the filter being tested. The fine fog particles quickly penetrate even the smallest leaks in the filter providing immediate visual identification.
A filter test can be performed in less than a minute. The procedure is simple and requires no special knowledge or skills.
A digital timer is integraed in the FilterTester. After adjusting the time and operating the start/stop button the creation of the microfog starts. The integrated pump starts automatically with a delay of 5 seconds and leads the microfog under low pressure to the internal part of the filter element being tested.
After the filter test, the micro drops evaporate without leaving any trace in the filter element.
Sterilization of the filter element after the filter test is recommended.
